Chapter 1 and 2 review
There are quite a few medieval aged books on a 'serf'' running away and going to be an actor. I really wonder why acting was such an in important profession, of the late medieval. My only guess would be that acting had a key role in the development of the renaissance. during these 1st 2 chapters, the protagonist, Peter, (By the way it is also a very common name among medieval england books) is waking up to go and destroy a wall along with the other men of the village because it separates them from their righted common lands. As the wall breaks the antagonist, Sir Phillips comes with a group of his knights to try and stop the revolt. Anyways, its an every man for himself turnover as peter hides, but some will of either extreme courage or just plain stupidity convinces him to throw a rock at Sir Phillips. the result is that Peter's hat is shot right off his head (his hat also has his name on it) and Peter is forced to run, leaving evidence of his being part of the revolt. The next day when Peter is in school two men with Peter's hat question Peter's teacher on Peter's where abouts. Luckily for our young protagonist though, he leaves during break on a little venture out in the wilderness. His friend comes to tell him of the men wanting him, but Peter is smart enough speed his way to his house on his trusty horse. I though find it surprising that Peter never had any of his siblings at school. After he reaches home his father is waiting for him and briefs him on where to go while giving him 5 shillings. (I wonder how much a shilling is worth in real life) Thus begins the journey of our little hero as in most stories, as he ventures out into the unknown world where he deems to change his stars. (My biggest question is would they really hurt a little, lost boy if they caught him?)

Great response KA$H!
ReplyDeleteBut I was just wondering...was acting really a very important profession in the late medieval times? I thought that fighting and your ability in combat was very important
Yeah. Great response kash. I agree with Esteban about the acting. I don't think that it was very important in the late medieval. And 1 shrilling is worth 24 cents in US currency. Oh yeah I like bomber cars.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on this Akash, try not to summarize as much though.
